’tis the season to get knitting…..

Winter is the greatest season for knitting – well I think so.  There are some fantastic winter knitting patterns out there – so many different types of knitting yarns.  I have been leafing through one of my favourite knitting pattern books recently, written by knitwear designer Martin Storey’s – Nordic Knits – published by Rowan.  It has some brilliant patterns in there, from hot water bottle covers to an amazing aran knit poncho – which one of my friends finished earliest this year.  She won’t be cold this winter wearing that poncho.

Other ideas for winter knitting is wrist warmers, which can be knit up easily in Twilley’s of Stamford Freedom Chunky – the Freedom Chunky comes in 10 different colours and is 100% pure wool.  As well as stocking Twilley’s of Stamford wool, we are proud to stock knitting patterns and knitting books to go with the yarn.

Also at this time of year, you mustn’t forget your pets.  I know my dog Louie will love a hand knit scarf this winter, to keep him warm and cosy on a chilly winter night.  I am not sure about the sun glasses though….
