Journeyman Mittens

A pair of knitted sock cuffs from Eastern Karelia, held in the collections of the National Museum of Finland, was the source of inspiration for the design of Journeyman Mittens. The mittens have got two-colour ribbing which is often found in traditional Shetland knitwear.

Jamieson & Smith 2 Ply Jumper Weight 100% Real Shetland Wool

  • Yarn A – Shade 81 Charcoal: 2 x 25g ball
  • Yarn B – Shade 78 Granit: 1 x 25g ball

3mm (UK11/US2 – 3) short DPNs, set of five, or your preferred needles for working small diameters in the round, or size required to obtain tension.

Sizing

To fit medium sized men’s hands 21-22cm/8.5in in circumference

Finished measurements: 22.5cm/9in in circumference and 21cm/8.5in long from top of cuff to fingertips
