Prima Shawl by Shellie Anderson

This shawl is exquisite.  I think it’s ethereal, light and airy.  There are so many yarn choices you could use for this shawl.   Definitely use a yarn which is hand-dyed and gradient to get the full effect that Shellie designed.  Shellie tells us in a recent blog that she designed the Shawl during the first lockdown due to Covid.   The Shawl has a special place in her heart, bringing her great comfort and joy.

Starting from a garter stitch tab, this crescent-shaped shawl is worked with increases on every row. Alternating sections of garter stitch, eyelets, and stockinette are enhanced by the contrasting textures of Bouncy Fingering and Magic Mohair.

Shellie used the following yarn to create the shawl, 1 skein of Sew Happy Jane Bouncy Fingering (463 yards) and 1 skien of Sew Happy Jane Magic Mohair (460 yards).

The Shawl Measures approximately 79′ (200cm) length and width at the deepest part of the crescent 19″ (48cm)

The Pattern is both written and charted, which is ideal.  You will need a 3.75mm needle.

For this pattern you could use The Jaunty Yarn Silk 4ply with Isager Mohair Silk, or Malabrigo Silk 4ply with Isager Mohair Silk yarn.
