Preston based hand knit designer has a beautiful collection of hand knitting designs to suit all tastes. She has been designing from the age of 13. She has also produced her own yarn label, Axis. Axis is a gorgeous worsted weight yarn, blended Suri alpaca with South American merino.
The Over It Slipover
The Over it Slipover is designed using Axis Worsted. The slipover is designed using a combination of moss stitch and cables.
The Over It Slipover is worked seamlessly from the top down. It begins with casting on across the upper back, working short rows to shape the back neck and shoulders, then working back and forth in rows down to the waist. Stitches are then picked up along the right and left shoulders separately, shoulder shaping is worked, then the fronts are joined at the neck to work down to the waist.
Decreases are incorporated into the cable pattern, and the edgings are worked in double moss stitch. Upon reaching the waist, front and back pieces are joined to work in the round with an additional cable detail. Front and back are then divided once again to work the lower body pieces separately.
It has been designed to suit sizes 28” to 62”. The slip over takes approximately 6 to 12 skeins to complete.
