A Hap for Harriet by Kate Davies Kit
A Hap for Harriet Kit
A beautiful classic design by Scottish based designer Kate Davies. She is a bit of a legend !!!
The Hap for Harriet is named after Harriet Guest. The Hap was created for Harriet as a retirement gift for all the decades of work she did as a researcher into the lives of the Bluestocking women, from the 18th Century. I have attached a link for you to read more.
This hap is knitted sideways, from end to end. The edging is worked together with the garter stitch body, and a long, shallow shape is achieved by working increases (or decreases) prior to the edging. The dimensions of this hap are flexible, and the pattern is perfect for making the most of a special skein of yarn: simply weigh your skein carefully before knitting, and follow the clear instructions in the pattern.
Our Kit includes a 100g skein of West Yorkshire Exquisite Lace (mulberry silk & Falklands Wool), a project bag, a stitch marker and a printed Knitting Pattern
Not included are a 60cm 3.00 or 3.25mm circular needle, (depending on your tension and gauge).
Blocking wires and pins
The completed Hap is approximately 48cm/19in wide x 208cm/82in long.
